A great read — anyone who can put “good and plenty,” “smidge,” and “whilst” to such interesting use gets my vote. Shades of your own brush with “Bonfire of the Vanities”! But methinks you let the cabbie off a tad too easily, no? He knowingly did not take you to the location near your hotel that you would have enjoyed?

This was hilarious, scary…but hilarious! I could see Jeremy and myself getting into the same predicament. Next time you go to Chicago, let me know. I have a good friend there who could recommend eateries.

Yeah, but was the pizza good? The only Lou Malnati’s I’ve been to was in a yuppie suburb, and I loved it so much that when CK is there for training he has to bring me one back.

caroline, you know that i live (only temporarily, thank god) in this flat wasteland, right? and that i would have happily steered you in a happy restaurant/cocktail direction right? but, then you wouldn’t have this bit of hilarity to share with the world so i guess its six of one a half dozen the other.
